I bought my place back in 2011 and back filled the pole barn and have been working off a dirt floor. I finally got around to pouring the concrete this winter. The process was a bit of a PITA due to all the rain I had to call off the second pour twice. Barn size is 25x40. went with a 4" slab @ 3000 psi with fiber and 1/2" rebar on 2 foot centers. I had a couple friends help with the pour so all I kept costs low. Here are the pictures.

Nice job on the floor. I plan on building my pole barn this spring and will also wait to put in a concrete floor.

........with fiber and 1/2" rebar on 2 foot centers.
Fiber is for surface shrinkage and not much else benefit. Reinforcement bar is a must (spoken for the benefit of the wire-mesh believers). Good call (only call). Place adequate control joints (2x more that you perceivable think) ; sooner the better and you'll have a great slab for a long time.

Nice job, somebody on the crew has done this before. Homeowners don't generally have bull floats and fresnos. Very smart taking off some of the siding otherwise you kill yourself moving the concrete.

Yeah, we each have a couple tools that we got on our own, saved from having to rent a bull float. I was thinking about renting a pumper to move the concrete but my buddie had the idea to just remove some siding pannels. that saved me $300 right there.

Nice job. I waited a year to do the floor in my pole building and absolutely love it now that it's done.
