Just put my first few hours on my first rig...lil red...
wanted the thank the members for their un-knowing help in my purchase.
and would like to share quickly my buying experience.

i realized that new vs. used was a no-brainer in the world of 0% financing for 6 years. i also realized i needed, and wanted, slightly more tractor then my budget would allow. (class 3 minimum, 35hp+, loader, qa bucket, hydro...filled tires, tilt steering...the works.) making my buying decision driven by cost alone.
i went on the hunt for a late model new New Holland 2310 or TC40...as these models were pushing financing for 6 years...found one locally here in Mass, but couldn't get it anywhere near my mark...($22k before insurance, and fees).
I was learning that Case Dealers where getting better incentives from their reps then New Holland dealers...for the same tractors (i prefer red).

After few 'bait and switch' contacts...i found myself calling a dealer in the south.
enter Tyson from Haney Farm and Ranch in Rockmart Georgia.
it was the last day of september...the day to sign papers 'before things may change'...and every dealer i called put their best foot forward.
Tyson did not have the advertised tractor anymore, and worked on a slightly used 'show' tractor to be sold as new...which turned out not to be a Hydro.
he called me back several times, then at 3pm... to offer me the Brand New 2009 Farmall 40 that was sitting on his lot for only 1 week.
i was ready for the bait and switch.....
But, that tractor arrived to my door, 800miles later, exactly as described, for less then my target number after insurance, delivery, and fees.
it took a set of forks and a 6' rear blade to put me over the top.

Tyson is and was a PLEASURE to deal with. i recommend him highly.

also... Bob at Woodbury Tractor in CT.. was incredibly helpful. i tried to support him locally, but his council sent me south as fast as possible. i really appreciate his honest advice.

my local New Holland rep, Steve at Keats, was also fantastic. we both knew i needed more then i could afford, and his blessing was behind my eventual decision to not buy locally (which is always very hard for me).

and lastly, Champlain Tractor in VT... would have met my pricing needs, if they could have gotten the tractor.... they were also very, very helpful in directing my decisions.

Thanks to all. go Tyson. i highly recommend giving him a call...wherever you are.
