Hi folks,

My name is Nick and this is my first post. After years of reading posts on this forum I finally decided to get the little Kioti. Should be delivered Friday, just in time for the weekend.

I originally planned on getting the dealer to fill the rear tires but he convinced me not to. He stated that it was a "very well balanced tractor" as is and that out of all the ck20's they have sold, very few (4) had their tires filled. Anyway, I figured I'd try it without first and see how it is.

Oh, almost forgot it's a HST and I ordered a toothbar with it. Still deciding on where and how to install bucket hooks.

Welcome Nick. You hear very few complaints about the 20 so you should be well pleased. I think you will find the toothbar very helpful when using the FEL.
Good luck and post some pics after it arrives.

Good going, Nick!

I got mine in February and it now has 200 hours. In fact I'm about to do the 200 hour service. You are going to love the "20" as well as the HST. A really powerful little tractor and it handles my five foot snowblower and backhoe with ease. I still got the tires loaded because I think if you get into moving logs or anything very heavy you will miss the extra weight back there. You cannot hardly tell the tires are filled even though half the year I have a backhoe weighing 1100 lbs mounted on a subframe.

My slip hooks are bolted to top of bucket aligned with the FEL arms. My dealer also welded a couple 1/4" steel plate gussets to the bucket to strengthen the bucket by the hook location. Good luck with your ck20.

Nick, Welcome to the forum and to The Pack!

After almost 3 yrs and over 300 hrs, I still love my CK20HST and the power of it. My two hooks are welded to the bucket as seen in the photo. I would suggest some type of reinforcement since after all the heavy things I have moved with the loader, the bucket has a slight smile to it now.

Post some of your own pics when you can. What dealer did you go through...?

Welcome Nick, dang man you must have an iron will. I was only lurking for a few weeks before I was dragged in.

I have no complaints with my Kioti, proud to wear the hat anywheres:rolleyes:

Welcome Nick. I also got started with a CK20. Loved it.

Regarding bucket hooks. I'd suggest reinforcing as others have noted but also to put them in the outer quarter of the bucket, not in the center. You may want to weld a grapple arm in the center some day so leave that space free.

I had my rear tires loaded. I liked it because the loader is so strong that it can pretty easily lift the rear of the tractor even with loaded tires and a bush hog. Not such a big deal to load them later though.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys,

Also thanks for your thoughts and ideas on the filled tires and bucket hooks.

Yes, Island Tractor, it was posts like yours that got me thinking about hook placement. I really like the grapple arm idea. I've got an awfull lot of brush to move around here.

I'm also looking for a decent box blade that will match well with this tractor. I'm thinking a 54", although not many companies make that size. Might have to go with a 60" and just take it easy. Now if I can only find one under $800.00 around here in NH.

Have you tried Tractor Supply Co. I forget exactly where it is but somewhere north of Nashua off Rt 3 I believe. 60" should be fine, the CK20 has a lot of grunt in low range.

When I put my hooks on, I welded gussets to the top of the bucket and also placed the hooks at the far edges of the bucket where I could weld them to the little bit of steel that protrudes up from the bucket sides. I felt it just gives it a little extra support and some of the lifting weight is carried along the upright piece of steel so the chance of bending the bucket top will be less.
