New Charcoal grill

I have not had a new grill in forever, I mostly only grill for myself and so I have put off buying one. I always bought the smokey Joes but they rarely last much more than a year before the grates rot away.

I was at the lawnmower shop and they are a Holland Grill dealer.

I noticed they had a mini charcoal "Holland Traveller" on a shelf, I asked them how much, he said he would give me a deal.

When I got home I decided to see if he did give me a deal....
Much to my surprise, Holland went out of business in June!

Man, I love grilling and smoking!
I have no experience with their charcoal grills, but my Holland gas grill has been awesome for 12+ years. It's a shame the NC company went out of business.

For charcoal, I use a Weber Kettle.

Holland had their niche. Fill the bottom w/ apple juice and toss on some pork. Not much better than that. I have the Weber Performer which I really like. It's basically my charcoal grill and smoker. Along with an ancient Ducane gas.

I have a Weber propane grill, and I do like it.

That said: There is nothing quite like "The Big Green Egg" for charcoal cooking.
Pricing is the only bad feature.

I bought one in Japan, flew it to Spain, used it there, then had Uncle Sam ship it back to me in the USA, (was in military then), and used it for 25 years....until it fell apart.
I would really like to have another, but the price chokes me up.
I paid $35 new in Japan (1967), for what in the USA now costs $1100 plus tax.
THAT is a LOT of inflation!
