Goosenecks tow easier as long as you stay on smoother surfaces.
The bumper pull won’t crunch the truck bed in the rough stuff.

Having a high enough neck for modern pickups and a reasonable sense of situational awareness prevents bed damage.

I cannot fathom why a 76 inch tractor on an 82 inch trailer presented a width problem. Nearly touching means they did not.
Thinking a gooseneck is less maneuverable than a bumper pull is an indication that you have never towed a gooseneck trailer.

It presented a problem on only a few inches of margin on either side, and it didn稚 account for the squish on the bottom of the tires.

As a class A CDL holder I assure you I致e ran larger trailers than a gooseneck, I am aware that a gooseneck does not follow the track of the tow vehicle and cuts the curve short...thus not allowing the truck and trailer combo to leave my driveway.
