New canopy (well, old parts)

Picked up a used golf cart canopy, a couple pairs of mounting brackets, and a neat basket type thingy for $40. Only other things needed were some 2x3 square clamps. The whole project took me longer to pick up the stuff than it did to get it mounted. Worked out better than I thought it was going to. There are even a few bolt holes in perfect locations to mount some cube lights (next project in a few weeks). I am hoping to get it painted to match this week, I will post some more pics then.

Looks great. Where did you find the brackets that go from the roll bar to the golf cart lid? Wilburn Cox, Stephenville Tx. I have a Kubota B7100 and would love to have that set up. It gets hot here in Texas.

The place I got the cart roof from had maybe 20 different pairs of supports laying around. It was like a golf cart junkyard. They have different shapes and lengths. I got two sets that looked like they would fit, if they didn’t work, my plan was to cut and weld them to size. The one pair worked just about perfect.

To those who want to build a similar canopy, most golf cart sellers also modify carts (kind of like tractor folks change/add on things). The local golf cart dealer had probably 30 canopies in a metal dumpster when I stopped in. Sold them for $25 each. $10 of hardware and an hour or two of time, and you can have one just like the OP. As you can see by his, they look like a factory design.

Here are a few pics of the basket thingy and brackets. I have an idea to put it between the ROPS, towards the rear, but I have to put the backhoe back on to make sure I have clearance between the two seats. If it will not fit between, then I will fab up some mounts to make it easily removable. I usually do not keep the BH on for too long. The rounded part of the back of the basket would get cut off, a straight bar replacing it.

Any other ideas for use of this would be appreciated!
