Kubota BX2660
I monitored the forum for months pondering a new tractor. Needing the FEL and a tiller, I contemplated the 60" MMM. Brand new tractor FEL and MMM was $13,150 with 0.5 hrs, just in case anybody was wondering. I currently mowed with a Dixon 60" deck for the past 12 years. I loved my Dixon and it never failed me mowing 5 acres of a 7 acre lot. It was an estate model. But since the other 2 acres was wooded, I wanted a tractor.

I purchased a BX2660 with FEL, 60" MMM, & BH 48" Tiller. This morning I got out and mowed, and was very pleased. The plan is to mow a couple times to see if I need to keep my Dixon or not. This tractor is a beast. I had about a 1.5 acre field I mowed through every other time. I believe this will change. Not drag on the tractor.

Anybody wondering if they need to switch from a ZT to a tractor, pull the trigger.

I too had a ZTR mower (Exmark turf tracer) and added a mower deck to my BX2350 to see if I'd like it. I originally had a small brush hog but found that after the first times mowing the meadow down and picking out rocks the mower deck did a much better job. A pretty rough field now gets mowed just like the lawn. The ZTR was faster in the tight stuff and was much easier to get tight to things but the BX does suprisingly well and is very maneuverable. The Bx isn't perfect but does a lot of things very well in one compact package. The cupholder is nice too!

Sounds like you did good, in June 2001, I gave $12,300 for a BX2200 w/60" MMM and FEL and was pleased with the price. You got more HP for just a little more money, I think you'll like the whole set up.

i also switched from a zero turn. had a commercial toro z master 100. it was an outrageous and beautiful cutting machine. alas, it was an april to october proposition.
since buying my bx, i haven't looked back. aside from tying up more of the family fiances, it is a capable year round tractor that allows me not only to cut the landscape . . . but, i actually get to create it . . . ta daaaa! shrekbelly

Congratulations! I've never owened a Zero turn but came close to buying one last year to mow a mobile home park. I can't run and dribble. One or the other but not both at the same time:) so I decided levers (2 at that) are not my thing. I bought a Kubota F2880E and love it with it's steering wheel and deck out in front of me.

My ZTR was a walk behind with a sulky to ride on. I used it in a part time business and for that it was tremendous. But as someone said, they are super for one thing and not very versatile. The BX does pretty much everything pretty well in on compact package.
I do miss letting people try the ZTR. Invariably they would panic and pull one lever tight and end up spinning in circles until it spit them off into the lawn. great fun at parties! :)
