New BX22: FEL lever locks in the down position?

I now have 7 (blissful) hours on my BX22 and I noticed that when the FEL is lowered from the raised position, the lever "locks" into place. If pushed forward gently (to lower the FEL) it will spring back to the neutral position when released, but, if the lever is pushed past what feels like a detent, you can let go of the lever and the FEL will continue driving down. This can't be normal?!? I will crush the bed rails of my truck in no time! Anyone else experience this?

There is a detent that you reach for the "float" feature when you push the lever all the way forward. It will "lock" into that position until you release it. This feature is useful for certain applications, such as plowing snow, etc. You just have to get comfortable with your FEL controls and you'll find that you will not jam the control all the way forward given you know the effect...go practice!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There definitely is a learning curve to using these attachments efficiently.

The detent is for the float position and it is DEFINITLY normal. To lock your FEL partially up you can make a cylinder lock which will slip on to the rod and prevent it's retraction into the sleeve. For dumping a load of dirt into your truck do not push the lever past the detent but yeah, if you shove it past the detent it will smash your truck quickly. Float is used for back dragging and all sorts of useful stuff and the detent is easily felt so there is no way you could accidently go into float. J
