Well I almost think it is a no brainer. You already have a bx-23 think the deck and FEL would/will fit on the 1500 if you wanted to just mow or BH and use fel on other to move spoil pile. Source of spare tires in emergency flat only 1 kind of oil/SUDT maybe filters to have on hand . Beside green means it's unripe.

Only downside is price on Kub seems kinda HIGH Yuck yuck!

1*So are you saying go with the BX1500 or do you mean go for the JD455. ??
2* I'm looking for a tractor to put a blade on the front and a tiller on the back and leave it set up that way cause I go back and forth between that and loader and BH jobs to frequently thus making switching implements impractical.
3*Why do you feel $5700 is high for a new Kubota bx1500?
Most prices I've gotten for a new one were in the 7500 to 8000 dollar price range.

The new 1500 would be a wicked little machine, although not much different than the BX23.

As I can swap between most any configuration in about 30 minutes (remove FEL & BH, install MMM and Bagger being the most time consuming), that still seems like a few bucks to spend for the convenience of not farting around with swapping things around. Sort of defeats the purpose of it being so easy. But you already said you'd like to have two differently configured machines.

That said, if someone dropped a brand new BX1500 in my lap for $5700 and my wife said I had $5700 laying around, it seems tough to beat. Great deal for a BX1500, but it seems a lot of money for one that already has a BX23.

I'd probably get a 4-wheeler Mule or something of a different "genre". Something I could get up the road with if I needed. Put a blade on that and just suck up swapping the BH with the tiller when you need to. It doesn't take that long...

I thought it was pretty plain sense but now you start with the blade and tiller routine. I still would go with the 1500 just to have the options of 2 machines with everything but the BH interchangable as well as parts/fluids/spares.

As far as the cost arn't you the person who about 1.5 yrs ago was telling everybody was paying 2 much for their BX-23 what a great deal you got Yada yada??

If I had an extra 6k burning hole in pocket yes the NEW (which somewhere somebody ? finding maybe other site where you asked same ? fewer responses than here) would join the stable but not unless win lotto.

If I have you confused with somebody else so be it but not worth time to check.

Yes, and I would not believe that he is buying a BX1500 for $5700 until I saw a copy of a reciept. Thats thousands below dealer cost, there is no reason a dealer would sell a new BX1500 for that price.

There could be a couple of scratches on the hood and a small ding in the fender, which could account for the huge discount.

1* A little smaller and about $7000 less than I paid for the BX23.
2*But just look at how much tilling or loader work I can get done with the 2 tractor set up during that 30 minutes you're swapping implements. Now imagine swapping them 4, 6 or 8 times in a day.
3*Being so easy also makes it simpler to always have the wrong implement on the tractor.
4*Yep because if you do a lot of frequent switches between task, changing attachments becomes a challenge.

No No

I have it on good authority that the 1500 has some bird dodo on hood and tires need air hence the price!!
