New BX 24

After lurking and studying this site and others for 4 months... I finally bit the bullet yesterday and bought a brand new BX 24 from Shreveport Tractor in Louisiana. BX 24 + 54" MMM for $17075. From what I have read, this isn't a bad price for a tractor they can't keep in stock. It will be delivered on Friday and I will get NO sleep til then! The dealership even gave me a pleasant surprise by telling me that my 11 acres is a "farm" and I didn't have to pay state sales tax. Lots of mowing and dirt to play in for this weekend! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Wow, I did not know that Kubota was up to 24 in the BX series. I guess this is a new model?

I dont want to be a bubble buster, but if you did not pay sales tax when you bought it, you will have to later on. In Indiana and Kentucky if you have a tax number, you dont pay the the retail level, but you better claim it on your quarterly returns or they will come looking for you.

You can bet he is going to claim the sale as tax exempt farm sale.

Sales tax for a tractor should be deductible on your federal return, however.
