Got a new set of shoes for my snowblower from Snow Blower Skids for all makes and models and spent the morning outside in the cold getting them put on.

These are for a Woods SB54S blower.

Had to be custom cut to fit the machine because the bolts are 8.5 inch on center. C.U.T. Series 3″ Long and 4.5″ Slot Spacing UN-Painted | Snow Blower Skids

I was worried about the skinny (2 inches wide) little shoes the blower comes with burying themselves in my driveway trying to support a 450# blower, the new ones are twice as wide and should have no problem staying on top so I don't blow stone.

Oh my, I would say you made a good choice as I doubt those OEM shoes would have supported the blower in a gravel driveway unless it was 100% frozen.

Nice shoes. I always had the same problem here. Mile long gravel driveway and we would get deep snow before the the gravel froze up. I've alway used a rear blade. The blower was used when the berms got to big & frozen to move with the rear blade. Maybe that's why I never had snow build up in the blower. Always blowing a little bit of gravel kept things very clean.

For sure a good idea.
I DIY'd my own some years back and never looked back.
Got lucky as I had some left over T-1 cutting edge material so mine will outlast the blower.

Hindsight, I should have gone into production as this is sure a viable product.
I did however make a few for friends.
Sure saves springtime raking and shear bolts. (and winter foul language)

A long time ago, when the house was new, I would do the spring raking. Now I just leave it and mow and let the stones sink in. After a while they just disappear. I mow high which means I don't pick up stone and throw it with the mower, but I've had to have stone trucked in 3 times over the last 20 years to replace what I've blown out.

There isn't any way the old shoes would have held up the blower. My shed floor is the same stone as my driveway and just sitting still without pushing it with the tractor, the shoes have slowly buried themselves in the stone and you can imagine how deep they'd dig with force applied.

$400 is a lot more than I want to spend.

Yes, they are a little pricey and the most expensive accessory I have added, but in comparison to the new tractor, blower and building a new shed to put it all in, not much at all and in the long run will make the job easier likely save me more than their cost.
