New Bison owner

[Bump]

I was recently given my uncle's old S650G. Sadly, it's been parked in his yard for 14 years so i've got some work ahead of me getting it going. Luckily, someone had the foresight to put sta-bil in the gas and drain the radiator before it was parked.

Some of the wires going to the starter are burnt/melted so first thing will be to replace them. I dont really want to spend the money on a new wiring harness so I guess i'll just make my own and label the wires as needed to match the originals/schematic.

The starter is being rebuilt after testing. Next will be plugs, wires, distributor cap, points and condensor and see if it will run! I may order an electronic ignition once I get it running. I was told it was bad about burning up points.

Any advise is welcome.

how is your project coming along? I am in a similar situation...mine didnt sit as long, but lots of service is way overdue

Sorry, took a while to respond. Guess ill resurrect this old post. The tractor ran like a charm, even after sitting all that time. I have had to disassemble and clean the carb a couple of times(its been a pain). New muffler on the way now. I have been bush hogging some overgrown fields and pulling a disc for dove field/food plots.

oh knothead541, it hasnt burned up any points so far. Guess that was bad info or I fixed the wiring problem causing it.
