Did you notice that the boom swing on the Backhoe is 150 degrees, and not 180?
I think it's tougher to get a full 180* swing on the smaller factory TLB's. I think the
B26 is 180, and the
L35 is also 180. But the BX's are only 140*, which was at times, a pain to not have the full 180* when using a
BX22, and definitely something to consider, but I think personally, I could live with the 150* swing with only occasionally thinking "I wish it were 180". To me, some of the other TLB features outweigh the backhoe boom size and swing issues. I can get the full 180* on the Woods or Kubota hoes for the
B7800 or
B3030, because they sit a little further back on the machine.
A bigger issue to me is FEL bucket rollback at 30* or less, but there isn't much I can do about that, since all of the models I'm considering are that way.
It's always going to be a compromise, and since I figure anything less than the
L39 is going to be a machine that I'm going to have to "settle" on, I figure I'll go with whatever smaller machine has the best balance between features (or lack thereof), because there is no way I could justify an
L39 for my situation.
