After much thought I took delivery of a new 825i gator last Friday. The Mule Pro FX came in a real close second place. I thought both machines were great but the primary difference was in the dealerships. I went to three different Kawasaki dealers in the area and I just didn't hit it off with any of them. They either didn't know their product, wouldn't negotiate, or didn't have a very good reputation for service.
Although I have never had much luck at John Deere dealers I decided to give it a chance and things went fairly well. The dealer is fairly close by and has a good reputation. I think buying several Harley's has taught me patience in dealing with arrogant dealerships. John Deere & Harley dealerships are similar, except for the product of coarse.
I have two Kubota tractors which I am very happy with, and have an excellent dealership close by, but the Kubota utv's just don't ring my bell. If my Kubota dealer also sold Mules I would have bought one.
Anyway, my 825i is Olive & Black. It has power steering & dump. It has a lid & bench seats. It has awesome black mag wheels. The bed is linexed from the factory. Sorry, I don't know how to post a picture. I have put 5 hours on it & really like how it runs. I want to add some additional lights & the front Hood Rack. I would appreciate any suggestions on the lights.
Lastly, I sold my Cub 750 EfI Volunteer after 7 years & 600 hours of ownership.and I must say it did everything I ask it to to do, and I think they are highly under rated. If money is an issue, for $4000 less than a Gator or a Mule you can buy a solid work horse and the 31 HP liquid cooled Kohler Engine will run to 32 mph which will run circles around the Kubota 900. I liked it so much I almost bought another one. I am hopeful the Gator & the John Deere dealership will serve me as well.

Congrats! My dealer brought a demo 825i out to my place on Wednesday and told me to use it for the weekend. If I like, we will discuss getting an 825i on Monday. Just the little bit I rode around on it, jumping some farm terraces and tearing up some cornfield, I am impressed. Wife rode along on a couple of terrace jumping events and she got a little scared. I felt like a kid with a toy.

For the JD dealership to just hand me a 825i and tell me to use it over a weekend, at no charge, says all that needs to be said that some JD dealerships have customer concerns as their focus and not arrogance. But I have had good experiences with this JD dealership over the years. They are a large multi location outfit here in the corn patch who's primary customers are farmers/ranchers. That might have a little to do with their customer focus compared to smaller dealers that cater more to landscape and average consumer markets.

Congrats on the new Gator, I have no regrets with my 825i purchase. It has needed some repairs over the last 3+ yrs but nothing major and it was all 100% covered under warranty. I think the Gator is a great compromise between work and play, it will move tons of snow during the winter and run a fence line or blast down the trails in the summer. It's exceeded my expectations in every way, my RTV 500 was a nice machine for light snow plowing but for hunting/working in the woods it lacked alot of traction and suspension...the Gator has not.

Congratulations. I just purchased a left-over 2014 Midnight Black special edition 825i about two months ago. It's too soon to offer any reliability opinions but it's a great UTV that has far exceeded my expectations so far.

I also liked the Kawasaki units I've got a lot of Deere equipment and a great relationship with an excellent dealer.

The demo 825i the dealer provided me over the weekend is back at the dealer getting some stuff put on it that i wanted. They discounted the price on the unit by $2K since it was a demo, new warranty starts when I take delivery, and they thru in extended warranty to sweeten the deal. Of course, the additional stuff I wanted on it is at regular pricing. Great machine from what I played with it for 5 days. When I get it back I will get a pic and post. They are giving it a full service before they bring it back. It has about 40 hrs on it. $18K final price (including tax and title fees) with new full soft cab (aftermarket) and Deere windshield, snowplow, full all around protection, CV guards fore and aft, and power lift box. Oh, and cab heater.

I put 5 or 6 hours on it over thanksgiving weekend. So far so good. I really like how it sounds and gets to speed. I pulled a couple heaping 5' x 10' trailer loads of firewood to the wood shed. No problem. Got it a little dirty. I also ordered the front hood rack from the dealer. Should have that next week. I need to get some additional lights but can't decide what to get. I like the 5" round in the front brush guard but not sure what to get for the front roof. I'm not real good at wiring but I will figure it out. I still feel good about my decision. I took the soft door off the driver side but left the passenger side on, in case I take the grandkids for a ride. I briefly took it up to 44 mph a couple times, but didn't really push it hard. Took it easy on the trails, no serious mud or water.

Hard to tell from all the pictures, is the steering wheel on the left? :)
