new 4520C

I put down a deposit for a Branson 4520C. I wasn't looking for a cab but if I am going to make the investment on a tractor, I might as well make it be what I want, right? After looking at two used 4720H, and from some great people here giving advice, the used units had too many questions into how they had been used and had shown some signs of being abused. It is difficult to understand how some people can not take care of a big investment and use the equipment as is intended. Anyway, the best part about this purchase is that my wife is 100% in favor of it. I don't have pics yet but will be taking some Saturday for sure and will post them. I am ordering a HD 6' brush cutter but is a 1 to 3 week delivery. I do have a question, the first of many, after it is loaded on the trailer, how is the best way to tie it down? I am borrowing a trailer and I believe it is a flat bed trailer.

If it has a loader then there will be a large hook welded to the bottom of the front frame made from 1" or 3/4" stock loop a chain around that, or in my case I use 3/8" chains directly to the top of the front frame.

In the rear I used a large bolt type clevis with 3/4" pin in the draw bar, and two more chains. I feel better about 4 chains rather than two, but using two can be done....

Nice machine by the way, I couldn't justify the cab... so I have the open station version. Careful with the HD brush hog. Everyone's definition of HD is different. You definitely get what you pay for. I wish I had spent more!

I do have a question, the first of many, after it is loaded on the trailer, how is the best way to tie it down? I am borrowing a trailer and I believe it is a flat bed trailer.

Sounds like a heavy tractor - make sure the trailer can handle the weight!!
Place wooden blocks under the ramps so they don't bend.

Load it so the trailer is level, or ever so SLIGHTLY nose down.
If it's loaded too far forward you'll exceed the weight rating of the hitch on your truck.
It its too far back, the trailer will "fishtail" as it goes down the road.
