My dealer didn't have all the accessories to install yet, but he figured I would want to use it over the holidays. So far I can say I don't think I will miss my 4720 open station...

I agree!!

I am sure you will not miss sweating under that blazing Texas heat anymore, eh??

Not too much while doing tractor work. Just got done working the herd. I need a calf table to make branding these little ones easier...

It has almost 3.5 hours on it. I really like it so far. I mowed our ditches in front of the ranch with it. It is so much easier with the E-Hydro than PR.

How warm are these things supposed to run? It was not near the red, but higher than I figured it would run. I guess higher than my ole 4720 ran when I did the same project. Of course, it was not having to run the AC unit, etc.

Darin, nice tractor. I take it the 4520 still has more than enough power
overall?

good looking unit, and very good pic. BTW, since it is purchased, and you have over 3 hours on it already, shouldn't this thread be o0n Owning /Operating?

Congrats!

I believe it is going to be a perfect size. My 4720 open station always had way more than I needed. I figure this 4520 will be perfect for MX6, taking rake, moving hay bales, etc.

The extra 600lbs with the cab makes a huge difference in the ride. Of coursse the air ride seat can't be hurting either.

There are a couple things I would change/add in the cab. I'll post a first impressions e-mail about them soon.

VERY NICE TRACTOR!

I have run mine pretty hard and the guage is just below half all the time. Even with max AC. These guages are not very accurate IMHO, so as long as it runs in the same spot all the time, I would not worry too much.

My 4320 runs high on the temp gage but not in/close to the red zone. Like you, I was concerned at first but it is not a problem.
Congrats and good luck with the new tractor.

Are you using Ultra-low sulfur diesel? Something to consider, because they do run hotter because of it, and the oil takes a kicking too.
