MY 3010 ARRIVED TONIGHT....AND MY 6 YR OLD B7100 GOT CARTED AWAY IN TRADE. I AM/WAS REALLY EXCITED TILL I TRIED TO HOOK UP MY WOODS RM 550 MOWER TO THE 3PH. WITH TURF TIRES ON, THE TELESCOPIC STABILIZERS HIT THE TIRES KEEPING THE LOWER LINKS FROM SPEADING ENOUGH TO USE THE MOWER...I CAN PROBABLY REVERSE THE PINS AND MAKE IT WORK. BUT I ALSO HAVE A LAND PRIDE 72 IN LANDSCAPE RAKE AND BLADE...BOTH HAVE PINS WHICH ARE ABOUT THE SAME DISTANCE APART AS THE RM 550 AND CAN'T BE REVERSED. I ALSO HAVE A WOODS SB 52 SNOWBLOWER...
IT NEVER OCCURED TO ME THAT THE LOWER LINKS ON MY B7100 WOULD BE ABLE TO SPEAD MORE THAT ON THE 3010...
WHAT ARE THE SOLUTIONS TO THIS...?
I HAVE HEARD THAT YOU CAN PUT SPACERS ON WITH TURFS, BUT I WOULD NOT WANT TO HAVE THE FOOT PRINT OF THE REAR TIRES TOO MUCH WIDER...
DO I HAVE TO GET RID OF THE TELESCOPIC STABILIZER AND SO TO TURNBUCKLE TYPE...

I HAVE TO SAY I AM A BIT PISSED AS I VIEW THIS IS A POOR DESIGN AND IS SOMETHING THAT I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF IN ADVANCE....ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I'd talk to the dealer right away. Is the wheel spacing adjustable on the 3010? Maybe you'll need to switch to R4 tires, but I agree it's a bad design. Maybe you've got the wrong rear tires.

He's correct...talk to your dealer right away. I have a L3410 which is essentially the same as a L3010. I have no problem attaching my implements, as far as lift arm spacing is concerned. My implements are all by Bush Hog. There was a recent post indicating the ASAE std for the different CATs. CAT 1 showed to be 26 inches. When I saw that post I checked the spacing on my implements, just out of curiosity, and it is right on. FYI, my tires are turf, Goodyear softrac, 41x14.00-20NHS.

You either need wheel spacers or Kubota also makes a different lower stabilizer bracket for use with the R-4's or turf tires. Sorry I don't have the part # for you. Bring it to your dealer's attention he should be able to take care of it.

I SWITCH THE PINS ON MY RM550 MOWER AND CAN MOUNT IT ON THE HITCH WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
I HAVE AN A FRAME DRAWBAR THAT GOES ON THE 3PH AND IT IS EXACTLY 26 INCHES ACROSS...WITH THIS MOUNTED, THERE IS ABOUT 1/2 INCH BETWEEN THE STABILIZERS AND THE TURFS...
I CAN MOUNT MY LAND PRIDE RAKE AND BLADE, BUT IF YOU LEAVE EVEN A LITTLE SWAY IN THE STABILIZERS (WHICH I THINK IS IMPORTANT), THE STABILIZER RUB THE TIRES WHEN YOUR USING THEM..
I ALSO HAD A CHANCE TO TRY THE TURFS IN THE WOODS, THEY LOAD UP AND FUNCTION LIKE BANANA PEELS THE MINUTE YOU ARE INTO ANYTHING SOFT..SO REALLY WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO RUN CHAINS ON THE TURFS

OF THE OPTIONS I CAN SEE:
ONE IS TO ASK THE DEALER TO MAKE SOME 1 INCH WHEEL SPACERS....MY ONLY CONCERN HERE IS WHETHER THIS WOULD PUT UNDO STRAIN ON THE AXLE...I KNOW YOU CAN SET AG TIRES WAY OUT BUT THEY USE A DIFFERENT SET UP AND I NEED SOMEONE WITH SOME ENGINEERING SAVY TO TELL ME IF THE SPACER IDEA IS OK

TWO WOULD BE TO TRY TO RE-WELD THE ATTACHMENT OF THE STABLIZER TO THE LOWER LIFT ARM...IT LOOKS LIKE IF YOU MOVED IT BACK AN INCH OR SO AND ANGLED THE END OF THE STABLIZER, YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO PICK UP AN INCH OR SO ....I WILL CHECK WITH MY DEALER ABOUT STABLIZERS FOR THE R4'S ..IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCE OR THE PART NUMBER THAT WOULD BE GREAT...
I SUSPECT THE OLDER TURNBUCKLE TYPE STABILEZERS WOULD GIVE BETTER CLEARANCE....

FINALLY, I WAS CONSIDERING A LAND PRIDE QUICK HITCH....BUT IT WOULD PROBABLY NOT ALLOW ME TO RUN CHAINS....

ANY OTHER THOUGHTS????

I just went out and looked at my tractor; with my 3pt mower attached there is about an inch and a half betwee the tires and the stabalizer arms, and there is no indication that the tires are rubbing against them. I do wonder if your wheels are mounted correctly. My wheels are mounted so that the tire valves are on the inside towards the center of the tractor. If I were to reverse mine, I would certainly be having the same problem as you because each tire would then be about an inch, or so, inward therefore reducing the distance between them by two or more inches. Just a thought.

TOM,
I JUST LOOKED AT MY WHEELS AND THE VALVES ARE ON THE INSIDE AND I HAVE THE SAME SIZE TIRE....
AS FAR AS THE STABILIZERS GO, I CAN'T SEE ANY OTHER WAY TO MOUNT THEM....
WITH MY LANDPRIDE 1572 BLADE ON THERE IS ABOUT 1/2 INCH ON EITHER SIDE...AND THAT IS WITH THE STABLIZERS TIGHT ..WITH NO SWAY...

I'm fresh out of ideas. I thought that the valve placement might be it. I just raised my 3pt with the mower on and rocked it back and forth...doesn't contact the tires at all. My setup is just like the sketch in the operators manual. It's about time to call the dealer and ask for a demo on "How to attach". Maybe he'll have an "idea".

I have the 3010 and I had the dealer put the R4s out as far as they would go, for stability. The rims reverse
and they have other ways to space the wheels out. I feel safer with the tires out as far as possible.

Apparently this is a problem that Kubota knows about (the have a footnote in their wholegoods catalogue that indicates spacers may be needed with certain implements..) Steve Carver was extremely helpful in sorting this out...Anyway with the Goodyear Softtrac tires you can get a Cat 1 implement on with 26 inches spacing but have only about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch between the tires and stabilizers. This is true even with my A frame drawbar which is exactly 26 inches between the pins. If you put a blade on the back I found it was almost impossible to get the stabilizer pinned so they don't rub the tires when the blade engages something ...
So my dealer has agreed to put spacers on (he will pick up the tractor and pay for the labor..I pay for the spacers... ) I don't have the part number handy but I will post it when I find it.
