Just bought a new 2816 gear and all I can say is WOW. I love this little tractor. Mainly using it for moving dirt to fill in around tiles, tilling the garden with the woods 60" tiller and bush hogging 6 acres. Got a question for you all, what is the best thing to load the rear tires with? I wont use CaCl as we did this on a Satoh we used to have and the rims rusted very badly. Would the windshield washer fluid be a good idea or a mixture of water and anti freeze? How much fluid will the tires hold, I have the commercial tires I think they are R4's. Thanks in advance.

Your choices are much better today. RimGuard, which is commercial beet juice and pricey, RV anti freeze, which is affordable and available everywhere, and Windshield Wiper fluid which is even a bit cheaper.

These are also quite Eco friendly, should you have a leak and a 10' diameter pool of 15 gallons leak out. You won't have a huge dead spot. All these choices are much, much less likely to stimulate rust.

Thank you. Have been giving it a heck of a work out. Got my old bush hog going and cleared 4 acres that were getting overgrown. VERY impressed with this lil machine. Going to get a lot done this summer that has been building up over the years.

WOW?

But how do you like it? I'm looking at 45-55HP (in that general range) tractors and I think I'm down to a Mahindra (5500) or Deere 5045D/5055D (I looked HARD at the Deere 4120 or 4320 because of the wet clutch and brake systems that last a LOT longer, but will not buy a MFWD - they are perfect extept for that.).

The Mahindra has lower hyd flow, more lift and a LOT lower cost. Weights are similar as is power. Both have gear transmissions.

When I find a 5500 I'll lay my paws on in and inspect relative to our Kubota which has mediocre build quality.

So far i like everything about this little tractor. The fit and finish seem very nice. As i use it more i will update any weaknesses i find.

bought the same tractor last year and love it. It will do more then you think but be careful in getting in over your head as it acts like a much bigger tractor. Had my tires weighted and they are aga tires. I have the loader but whish it was quich detached so I could use other implements.

The loader mine came with is a quick detach I believe. I understand what you mean with dont get in over your head. I was moving dirt today and was thoroughly impressed.

I have a 2810HSTwith a 106 loader which I converted last summer to quick Tach. Just a simple stop at your dealer andthey can order the part. Its as simple as removing 4 pins putting on the new piece and the best part is you don't need a hammer! Once this is on you can get buckets and forks and other stuff almost anywhere and of any company which sells quick-tach. The auction scene then opens up possibilities. John
