I am excited, picking up my first real tractor this weekend.. Just curious if anyone else had to cut and weld on her the first day..

Welcome and congrats on your new tractor. What are you planning on cutting and welding to give you the needed room? ROPs won't fold down to let you in the garage?

Yeah rops don't fold and wasn't about to pay 600-700 bucks for folding ones.. So she is getting cut, hinged, re-enforced and painted..

Just hope its not raining when i pick her up..

Femco company makes an aftermarket folding
ROPS for less than $300 last I knew...

Yeah i saw the Femco's, but i made mine for 42 bucks, so can't really beat that.. I'll post some pictures later tonight...

If you mod'ed your ROPS then you probably voided any warranty on it, as well as disqualified yourself from any legal claims should you or anyone ever be injured as a result of the ROPS failing in a rollover. Yeah, that's all legal stuff and I know you probably don't care but hopefully nothing like that will ever happen. I'm just a firm believer in leaving the ROPS alone. I think the design and manufacture is certifed by an independent lab and altering it is a big no-no.

Anyway, congrat's on your new green machine and hope you have lots of great seat-time with it!

That is one of the reasons I chose orange over green. Congrats and good luck with the new tractor!

Kebo - I haven't modified yet but still plan on doing so. I have read several other post with all the legal mumbo jumbo. I don't buy it.. I replaced an engine in my truck and sold the truck. If that engine dies on the road 4 years from now and some one smashes into them I won't be liable.. Etc There is a million examples..

Really though I am not worried about these failing if anything they will be stronger than factor in that area. My cousin builds roll cages for a living for dirt mods. he sees no issues with doing this.

I think if I upgrade in the future it will be through the dealer any ways, so if they resell it, probably will be there issue..
