First time utility tractor owner - first time Deere owner! Needless to say i'm thrilled & just had to post a few pictures of her. Used TBN quite a bit in making my choice - lurked for quite awhile. Want to say thanks to all the posters & thanks in advance for all the help i'm sure i'll need in the future.

We have just built our home on 2.2 gently rolling acres in Central Ohio. As you'll see there's still quite a bit of bare soil around the homestead - but that'll change soon as things actually decide to warm up and STAY warm (was 79 yesterday & a blustery 44 today!). We hope the investment in the 2305 will pay off for years to come.

Strange how this investment has come with no 'buyers remorse' at all - must've been a good decision!!

You can see that our Honda CRV now lives outside from here on!

Again, just wanted to say thanks.

Congratulations and welcome to the Tractor family. I 've Had a great time on my JD, don't know how I ever got along without it. I'm just waiting for the ground to dry up so I can get going on summer projects...Alaskanjdeere

Quick question (hopefully it'll get some views in this thread so i'll not need to start another!)

Anyone have any input/own/ever use Deere's PTO driven pendular spreader seen here: SS1079P & if so, what would I expect to pay for one new?

Looking for an annual weed/feed/seed spreader for our 2.2 acres. Would this be ideal?....overdoing it? Would one of these simple broadcast spreaders serve me just as well?

Any input would be appreciated!

I know TSC sells a pto broadcast spreader. I am betting it will be much cheaper than the JD. Just look for some options. Not much to the spreaders. I am not sure of the TSC price but I will check when I can.

I use a pto spreader on ~ 1.5 acres; sure makes the job go quickly! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the replies!

BloomingtonMike - I've got a TSC about 10 minutes from my home & this is just another good excuse to walk in the doors, so don't go through the hassle! but thanks though.

JDFanatic- Can you elaborate? brand/price/purchased at/when?

Thanks again to all!

doing a bit of looking, i found the TSC (COSMO) here item # 2118427 for $414. sure this is likely either competitive w/ JD or less expensive.

could my 2305 handle this easily? i do have some gentle knolls on my property - enough slope though that i prefer to take them head on and not ride along w/ the risk of rolling. with 500# of weed&feed or fertilizer + ~200# operational weight...would i need front end ballast? sorry for all the questions - just i know there's a wealth of knowledge here!!

thanks!
