Tractor
Kubota M6040HD

I decided to pull the trigger on a 2008 M6040 with hydraulic shuttle shift. I'm very excited about it. :D:D:D Seems like a really nice tractor for the money. Thanks to everyone on this forum who provided insightful advice.

Next is to buy a gooseneck trailer to get her home.

How much does this tractor weigh with filled tires (calcium chloride solution I think), and what is the overall length with the loader?

Base weight for this tractor is 4785 lbs according to Kubota's specifications. How much does the loader weigh, and how much weight is added by loading the tires?

Thanks,
Jason

i'd get a minimum of a 25-28' gn 14k tandem.

What size truck? I've got a 25 deck over GN pulled by a 3/4 ton diesel. Also would recommend the B&W turn over ball. That way when you're not hauling you have a clear bed.

Trailer weight capacity is 14k so I doubt if your tractor will be to much.

I'm thinking of a 24' 14k gooseneck with pop-up dovetail, which is a commonly available configuration. Such a trailer normally weighs about 4,000 lbs empty leaving about 10,000 lbs for tractor and implements. I think that should work just fine.

I have an F350 diesel single rear wheel with the Ford OEM in-bed gooseneck hitch, which is actually Reese's copy of the B&W hitch. The rated towing capacity of the truck for a 5th wheel trailer is 15,700 lbs.

According to Kubota specs, loader is about 1,500 and bucket is around 500 -- 2,000 lbs total.

Jason - I have a 2009 Kubota M6040 with bucket loader, filled rear tires and back blade. Over the local grain scales it weighs 9650. The back blade weighs 980 so by my math it then weighs around 8670. Overall length of the tractor - not including the backblade - is 190 inches. Hope this helps. Enjoy your new purchase.
