Need to find motor for F680

Last spring we bought a used F680 at an auction. During the summer the motor blew up (please don't ask for details, I'm a "she" so I don't have any) and we sent it to a local repair service that does work on our other mowers. It has been months now, and it is still there. He claims he is searching for a replacement motor. Should it be this hard to find one and could anyone give me any ideas to help this project along? Thank you for any advice you can offer!
