Not sure best way to do it.
Here is what I have
Tractor with loader and toothbar
potato plow(middle buster)
box blade
quick spade for loader

I just need it underground an inch or so so the ground is level. No heavy equipment will go over it. It is just on top of the ground right know from gutters to a small pond. Total length is about 125'.

If working in tight quarters, mini-excavator.

Why won't the potato plow do it?

I used the middle buster to bury 100 ft of my 4". I took it easy the first couple passes then gave it the gas on the last. It forced the dirt out of the ditch pretty well and the pipe has been draining overflow from my hill for the last 7 years,..

Love to have one but will have to make do.
Looks like the middle buster might do the trick
Thanks

I vote middlebuster too if thats what you have. Might take a couple of passes to get the depth, but should be the quickest solution.

When I did the 4" tile feeding my pond, and didnt want to open up a 36" trench with the BH, I used my rear blade. It has tilt feature. With tilt and a little angle, it made a nice VEE shaped trench. I imagine similar to how the middle buster will work.

I gotta ask though...why PVC? Isnt 4" pvc about $1 per ft?? Why not 4" NON-perforated drain tile? Less than half the cost of PVC and will do the same thing.

My concerns were over getting the 4" pipe in the ground. Have used this method for smaller water pipe but not something this large in diameter. I suppose if the plow foot was big/wide enough it would work.

We laid 500 ft of 1" with a Potato Plow. The upside is that it went in very very easy. Kinda tore up the grass a bit but it will grow back. A mold board will create a furrow that you will have to fill over, and a nice 6" deep trench will have you making multiple passes depending on your rig. Pulling 4" pipe with a potato plow will probably take two people.

Is this 125' of 10' sections of rigid 4" PVC pipe, or a coil of 4" PVC flex hose?
