need starter parts for MT372

its on my MT372 9tooth. best way for me
is just call me 509 993 7812 its Saterday 14:45.

I usually take mine to a rebuilder. You could try Valley Power or Japanese Tractor Repair Dixon, IL.

The starter for this tractor is similar to some older car starters. An older Isuzu or Datsun may fit on this engine.
A friend of mine worked at a parts store and found one that had the same nose cone and dimensions. The only difference was one of the holes was threaded instead of a thru hole.
I may see him soon. I'll try and get a part number. ....

Found this on a search here on TBN: Found a starter solenoid at Rock Auto.com on closeout for $20.00. Thought I could rip into it and figure out the internal wiring. However, since the thing fit almost perfectly on my starter, I installed it and only had to rotate it slightly to line up the threaded attachment holes. The lead coming from the starter was long enough to connect to the bottom terminal. Works like new. The solenoid was listed for a 1985 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 2.3L engine. L-4. diesel.
So, in a pinch, that one could probably be found locally at most auto parts stores.

Yee-Haa... found out tha Lester# for tha entire starter
is 18097 BUT... $408.99 NEW. i did find JUST the
drive gear (benddix) NEW $23.79 m191T-33071 is a
9t cw Lester# SDMI-2539. trupar.com also has it for
$23.09 aspwholesale.com has it listed as 54-8137-1
replaces the 2114-45912 (888)5020960.

Found a starter that may work.

Advanced Auto Parts number 16514

Says it fits a dodge D50 pickup. Look at pics of it and see how similar it is.

i found the "lester" # 18097 BUT its $470.90 if you would
track down yer buddy that has that other make MFG
and part # i'd Realy appreaciate it. PLEASE make rha extra
effort to track him down & get that info.

CPJLUBE Thanks for gettn back to me, i went to
Schucks (oriley parts) and had them pull the
16514 its Way to small of a starter. the 16863
has wrong nose cone and cant bolt mine to it.
the 16738 was only 2left in california. so didnt get
to look at that one.

Hmmmm. I was pretty sure the same engine was in the s370 (Satoh) and the mt372. Same displacement if I remember.
Wonder if you could get the parts guys to let you start pulling out a few starters off the shelf and start comparing them. Try autos and trucks from the same era. I'm pretty sure Mitsubishi didn't build a starter specifically for that engine. Has to have another application.
Or rebuild it?

snowmobile your lester number is 18097 mitsubishi number is m4t14674. the drive should be accurate number 4-615 down the road from you is a company named romaine electric they also have a location in kent washington their number is 800-426-5005 i think you will find the price is NOWHERE near the 400.00 mark drive should be less than 20.00 unit should be less than 200.00 if you have any problems just call me i can do either part my number is 678-478-7427. thanks mitch
