I'm in the process of buying a DK 35 with a 1450 FEL and a 1550 backhoe /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. Tractor will be put to work on my 45 acre hobby tree farm. The land is flat and wet in some places.

I'll be using the TLB cleaning out ditches, doing road improvements and clearing brush. I spoke to the dealer today about the best setup for for my tractor. He suggested 1) Industrial vs Ag tires: rationale tougher thicker rubber that will hold up better running over stobs and pieces of timber 2) A grill guard... makes good sense 3) A tooth bar for the loader...which he says will make the bucket more versitile 4) and finally a 4 in 1 blade for the FEL.

I am OK with suggestions 1-3 but am concerned about the weight of the 4 in 1. Not so much with lightening the rear tires (have backhoe) but in the reduction of lift capacity and wear and tear on the loader. The loader lift capacity is 1350 pounds. Does this include the bucket weight or is this 1350 pounds plus bucket weight? I'd hate to have a bucket weighing 600 pounds making my net lift weight only 750 pounds.

The dealer suggested the 4 in 1 because I will be moving material and moving/piling brush in burn piles. Would I be better off with a grapple bucket or a grapple kit on a standard bucket? Right now my big issue is clearing brush but site improvement will come soon thereafter.

What do you guys think?
Thanks

Does not include bucket weight
My KL1450 owners manuals says. "lift capacity to full height @ pivot pins .....1,350 LBS".

I see your going with the 7 1/2' backhoe,I went with the 8 1/2' on my DK 35 and it works real nice.

If most of the Fel work is brush & small trees >4" the standard bucket & toothbar will work great.
I would get IND R4s
The 8 1/2 hoe is a better setup. and you can move Large trees, logs, and many more with the hoe.

If you go to the Kioti web site and look at the BH application chart you will see they no longer advise putting the 2385 BH on the DK35.I talked to a dealer and he says the 2385 is now made in Korea.I don't know what the difference is between the older 2085 and the newer 2385 that would make it such. But they were putting the 2085's on the DK35.

KL1450 loaders were spec'd out with a 60" bucket on the loader. That was the "original" standard bucket.

Just had my DK35 delivered last Saturday, it came with a 2385 hoe and a 1450 loader.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I think I'll stick to the smaller hoe.

Still interested in hearing if anyone else is running a 4/1. If so, what do you like and dislike.

Congratulations S on your New DK35. Let me know how you like your new TLB.n I might have mine by mid September.
