I'm in the process of buying a DK 35 with a 1450 FEL and a 1550 backhoe /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. Tractor will be put to work on my 45 acre hobby tree farm. The land is flat and wet in some places.
I'll be using the TLB cleaning out ditches, doing road improvements and clearing brush. I spoke to the dealer today about the best setup for for my tractor. He suggested 1) Industrial vs Ag tires: rationale tougher thicker rubber that will hold up better running over stobs and pieces of timber 2) A grill guard... makes good sense 3) A tooth bar for the loader...which he says will make the bucket more versitile 4) and finally a 4 in 1 blade for the FEL.
I am OK with suggestions 1-3 but am concerned about the weight of the 4 in 1. Not so much with lightening the rear tires (have backhoe) but in the reduction of lift capacity and wear and tear on the loader. The loader lift capacity is 1350 pounds. Does this include the bucket weight or is this 1350 pounds plus bucket weight? I'd hate to have a bucket weighing 600 pounds making my net lift weight only 750 pounds.
The dealer suggested the 4 in 1 because I will be moving material and moving/piling brush in burn piles. Would I be better off with a grapple bucket or a grapple kit on a standard bucket? Right now my big issue is clearing brush but site improvement will come soon thereafter.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
