Need shoe or footwear, or boots recommendations

I can not wear leather boots because I am alergic to leather.

Lately I have been wearing Merrell MOAB II mid height hiking shoes Merrell Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Earth - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways , but I find they don't last very long and cost $130 a pair.

Anyone have a good recommendation on a similar shoe? I walk in moisture a lot, so I need something waterproof, and although it's almost impossible to find something that is not leather, it would be nice if there were something out there.

Have you looked at Muck Boots? They are built for work and not made from leather. I love mine for working in wet conditions.

I wear Muck boots from beginning of fall thru the end of spring. I have a set of heavy snow packs if its really cold out. Otherwise, I wear a heavy duty tenney shoe during the summer or leather boots if I'm using my chain saws.

I looked at the Pursuit Shadow, but they seem to be insulated and I'm afraid would be too hot for summer down here in South Louisiana. Thanks!

I did google 'vegan boots' and found several hits. REI had a few that are discontinued and one that was 'electric blue' color. Zappo's was similar to REI. I looked further down the google list and found these. Vegan Multifunctional Boot - Lowa Ferrox GTX Mid Graphit/Blau | avesu VEGAN SHOES
The are somewhere in Europe, I think, and give a shipping time of 6 days to the USA. I ordered a pair today for $173.50 including shipping. I'll post a review when they come in. Looks like this company is in Berlin, Germany

I'm guessing they were shipped usps? They tend to lose things for a few days at time (or in my case, a few months at a time).

It shipped DHL to Chicago then USPS took over. I got 3 text messages that it departed Baton Rouge last night.
