Need mower deck help needed

Yesterday I got a 2007 X728 Ultimate series with 4 wheel drive, 54" deck. I have the tractor manual but no deck manual. I turned the deck knob to almost full up and raised the deck. Now I cannot turn the knob to adjust. It is stuck. I took the plastic knob off and gave it a shot of PBB, but still cannot turn it. This series JD is totally unfamiliar to me, and any advice on how to free this up to get the deck moving again would be appreciated. Also any tips on how to remove the deck would help. Thanks

You may have caused the problem by turning the deck knob up before raising the deck to full height.
Here is a schematic of the mechanism under that knob (key #1)

Definitely need to only adjust that from full down. Put it all the way down and the knob should be freed up.

I suspected the problem was self inflicted. Thanks for the replies. Do I need to remove the deck to fix this, and if so how does the deck driveshaft disengage?

Put back (forward towards the deck) on the outside ring on the coupler

To remove deck

Raise all the way up
Turn wheels 90°
Adjust cut height to 1 1/2"
Lower deck
Disconnect drive shaft
Remove front mount, spring loaded locking pin at front, rotate to release from front of frame, remove from front of deck
Deck should slide back off lift arms
Raise lift arms
Slide deck out

On MY x485 AWS with 62C deck, I have to use a jack to lift the front axle so the gear box will clear to slide the deck out. You may not have to with smaller deck and not AWS
