Bought a 3ph backhoe off Craig's List, AC3 is the decal on it...absolutely no other markings.
Fits a 50ish HP tractor.
Swing hydraulic cylinder is busted...cracked gland.
No sign of manufacturer or other markings on this cylinder or any other.
Took cylinder to local hydraulic shop... full service shop, good people, I trust them. They said that it is a METRIC cylinder and that they have no sources for metric parts....go back to the OEM...but I can't figure out who the OEM is.
I have no problem with purchasing a new cylinder...but it needs to be METRIC because the hose fittings are metric as are the pins holding it in place.
Have looked all over the net for metric hydraulic cylinder suppliers and/or parts. No luck.
Have called numerous hydraulic repair places in Austin and Houston...all say that their only idea is to have a new gland machined to order.
Surely I'm missing something simple here...
Photo of the cylinder would not be useful...it is a simple red cylinder with no markings on it... pins hold each end in place.
Does anybody know where METRIC hydraulic cylinders and/or repair parts can be obtained, I hope
