Kubota L35 & F3060
I've got a Kubota L35 (new 2001 with only 210 hours on it) which I like very much. Now, after looking at the JD110, I'm inclined to buy one.

Yesterday I had the chance to operate one...what a dream. The hydraulics seem to be extremely smooth on the backhoe. Plenty of power. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Question for those who have taken delivery of the 110. The fenders, especially the right one, (fiberglass) seems to "bend" over 2 - 3+ inches when using the handle to get up into the seat. I'm 200 lbs. but I don't think it should flex THAT much. Is this common? Do I need to lose weight /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Other than that, I really like the machine.

Please advise.

Dave

ps: Anyone looking for an L35? Like new.

Dave: I saw a comment that the 110 is based off a JD4600/4700. My 4700 has the fiberglass fenders, which flex when you use the handles to board. Wasn't very impressed, and wrote JD to say so. They're bolted on with 2 fender washers. Just doesn't give a feeling of solidness. Apparently JD didn't get enough negative feedback because they released the 4x10 series 2 years later without any improvement in the fenders.

Synergy,
I also had an L35 before purchasing the 110,my 35 was a 94' and had 1600 hours on it,it did all I asked it to do plus a little more, and I never had a problem with it,the only reason I sold it was I needed something with more loader capacity for loading trucks.I have to say though the 110's hydraulics are much smoother, the hydro tranny is much more efficent than the glide shift when using the loader, the hydraulic options are laid out nicer, and I think the operator area is well laid out and very comfortable. As far as the fenders,I do question their ability to completely support me if I were to slip and grab the handel,or if I was to just give a hearty yank on the handel to get on the machine,I think it would rip right off,not very impressed by that. There are a couple of things that could be "refined",such as the location of the loader lock out,the excessive play in the swing cylenders, the fenders, and I had to shim the loader arms where they mount, along with the main pin on the hoe where the quick coupler attaches.

I really love the way the 110 runs and performs, and I am happy that I made the purchase,if you need a machine,REALLY NEED a machine, that has more of everything compared to the L35,then the 110 would be a great choice, but if you can get through the next couple of years with the 35,I would wait till Deere comes out with the next generation of 110's(like the 110 B) because I think some of the little quirky things will be resolved.Hope this helps!

Hey Tags, haven't been around much lately. Last time I spoke with you you were talking about extra play here and there. I don't understand that. How can a new machine have any play? I've been by my JD/Kubota dealer and the two 110's he got in back in June are still there and quite frankly am puzzled why they don't sell especially with a real shortage in many compacts. They are nice looking T/L's but he doesn't really want to demo these machines in the dirt which I understand but it would be nice to just check them out. Glad things have worked out for you, I'm still considering dropping down to a removable loader type compact. As much as I enjoy my tractor, its just to awkward for all the mowing I'm doing.
