I'm looking for the *inside width* of the 49" materials bucket for the 1-series (probably same for 2305) loader bucket. I'm trying to order a toothbar and I don't have the tractor to measure myself. I'm leaning toward the BXpanded Piranha version, but I'm considering others too...

I'm getting some conflicting info- the dealer has said repeatedly that the inside width is 49.5" (+/- 1/16"), but I also find a different toothbar manufacturer that lists the bucket width at 48 13/16". There's enough of a difference there that I'd prefer to have others' comments

Everyone I spoke with has said to measure it myself, so that's what I did. You'll see once you look at it that the place to measure is down near the cutting edge on the inside... That will be the smallest width, and what the toothbar needs to fit inside of. There is variance here, so you want to measure yourself.

I wouldn't have asked if I could measure it myself.
Generally there isn't much variability during the manufacture of these buckets. I'm sure one JD 49" materials bucket isn't going to be much different from another!

No offense intended with my last response. I appreciate any comment!

No worries, let me explain.

I asked my dealer to do exactly this and used those same words. He refused and said to wait and measure because there was variability (and pointed out that this is why the mfg site says to measure instead of just using the last JD 53" bucket's meaurements).

Good luck either way. :)

My dealer wanted to order a 48" toothbar, but I suspect a longer bar would have better fitment. The machine just came in, so I'm sure it will all work out just fine.
