Have a concrete drainage ditch that runs across the entire back section of our property. It extends across our yard, and also runs at the back of 5 other homes in our neighborhood. We're the house at the end of the drainage ditch.
The city won't allow us to fill it in, as it is needed for drainage into a 'green belt' area behind our home.
It is a safety hazard, as we've had to section off & put up a temporary fence on that 1/3 part of our yard so children won't fall into it as they play in the backyard.
I'd like ideas on ways to affordably cover the ditch so we can walk across it (& take existing fence down) OR fill it in with gravel (& how we'd keep gravel from washing away to next neighbor's yard, etc.)...OR any other ideas some of you might recommend.
The culvert is concrete on the sides & bottom, 105' length by 24" width by 24" deep.
We'd welcome any ideas you may have. Thank you
