Tractor is an old Mitsubishi MT300D.

Tractor manual says rear AG tire size 12.4-24 on w10-24 rim. So I purchased 12.4 tires.

Well, turns out the tractor has 11.2-24 tires on w9-24 rim (24xw9 stamped on rim).

Any chance the 12.4 will fit on the 9-24 rims?

I wish I could stop doing things the hard way, sigh.

I would think it will work. I run 13.6-24 on a tractor that came with 12.4-24s. I have had no issues in 20 years. You will have a tighter clearance at the lift arms but, if you have adjusted your tires to match your cutter, that will not be an issue either.

I'm pretty sure a pair of them will work just fine. If in doubt consult the vendor or trade them for the appropriate size.

OK, thanks for the comments. Looks like there is plenty of clearance for the tires and 12.4 is a standard size for the tractor. My wheels are set for the widest wheelbase.

I was mostly worried about the rim being a 9x24 instead of 10x24.
The manual shows the 9x24 rim for a 11.2-24 "ES" tire. Maybe ES is a turf tire.

Anyways, didn't want to spend a day wrestling tires only to find there is no way it would fit. I'll give 'em a try.

It is generally accepted that it is OK to go up one size in tire width for a given rim. Over the years I replaced 18.4x38s with 20.8s. 15.5x38s with 16.9s and 12.4x28s with 13.6s. No ill effects, of course these were all 2wd tractors.

If yours is 4WD I would not upsize the rears only.

Good Point! There is an OD difference.

It is 4WD and I hadn't considered tire OD either.
However, the tractor now has factory spec lug tires, 7-16 front and 12.4-24 rear.
Just about kicked my butt, I don't have a good tire bar. I do have a cheap copy of a Bead Buster which really helped.
Thanks for the help guys... :drink:
