I have a model 51 JD loader on a small ford 1100 tractor. I need a new hydraulic piston for one of the bucket cylinders. I have ordered this part twice, and on both occasions it has been the wrong size. The second time I triple verified the part number to the catalogue. There is only one explanation left. The cylinders on the loader are not original.

I am left having to try and source a hydraulic piston for a mystery cylinder. Is there any place out there that would match up something based on dimension in the same way that some seal places will ?

Thanks
Bruce

Maybe a implement dealer, or look around your area for a hydraulic repair shop in yellow pages. I have ran into such problems like that in the past too.

Small hydraulic shop, or possibly a machine shop could make you one...what is wrong with it?

Like Kenny said, locate a hydraulic shop. Bring them the entire cylinder. They can take a blank piece of chrome rod and make a new rod, usually for less than the one you ordered.
