Need help with my Compact John Deere 2210

My 2210 has rear end problems. Dealer said it needs a new hydro unit, which I guessing is the whole back end because going to cost over $5,000 to fix. It goes backwards just fine, but struggles going forward. Doesn't bog motor down, acts like its slipping. Any ideas or suggestions on what to look at or may a place in Ohio I could find a tractor junk yard to find a used rear end. Just don't want to spend $5,000 to fix. Thanks!

Just maybe a long shot here, but have you changed the oil and filter (also cleaned the screen) on the unit? Bought my 2305 new changed the hydro oil at 50 hrs. Screen had a lot of trash on it!

Yep, , changed filter, hydro fluid, and cleaned internal screen. Still no change.
