I've been give quotes for the following pkgs (all with corresponding FEL, 5ft bushhog, 5ft boxblad)
3015HST $16.5K
3510 4WD $19.1K
3525 2WD $15.9K

Are these prices good?

I plan to use the tractor to maintain, landscape 6 acre of marshy land in Louisiana. The land is well drained but can be boggy for 2-3 days after a good rain. I was wondering if the 2WD model would be adequate.

Thanks,

cajunrider,i have not priced those models, but they seem high.last year i bought a 4500 2wd,18.5x6.5 trailer,6ft cutter,20/20 disc harrow,hd boom pole for $14,000 from outback tractor in cumming,ga..i would ck around and if you can save enough money it would be worthwhile to travel a little way to pick one up..

7 Months ago a dealer by me was selling a 4110 for 18500.00
with just a FEL - no other attachments. The 4110 has 6 more hp and only 88 lbs heavier than the 3510. Hope this helps

Back in 9/16/04 the best deal i could get was 15,500. for the 3015 HST W FEL. And 13,900. for the 2615 HST W FEL.
i bought the the 2615 and so far its been a grate tractor no problems yet.

Don't get 2WD. Particularly if you are going to be using a FEL. You will need ballast anyway for the FEL, but with a load in the bucket lightening the rear end, you are going to want the front wheels driven too.

The normal solution for traction is more weight but with occasional boggy conditions, weight can make you sink in more. If I were you, I would get a smaller tractor if that was what I had to do to afford 4WD. Once you talk yourself into that, bite the bullet and get the bigger one with 4WD anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

That's how we all talk ourselves into justifying our toys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But seriously, don't consider anything that isn't 4WD. I live in Oregon, we have some experience with wet ground. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks everyone for your replies. I plan to go see the tractors next week and will try to get them to drop the price some.

Ditto what Tomrscott said about 4wd. If you go with 2wd you'll be unhappy until you go to the 4wd in my opinion. The 4wd is very helpful even without considering the FEL when moving about our type of ground. I also recommend R4's.
