Recently bought a JD 670 compact and a 60" 3 pt mower. The problem is after I run it for about 15 minutes under load the rpm's drop out. At first I thought I was out of fuel (it was very low) but filled it up and still the same. It will cut down to 1000-1500 rpm at full throtle. I'm sure its a fuel problem. Put in a new filter and can't find any leaks. Seen that a new injector pump runs a grand and hoping that won't be necessary. Any ideas from anyone who may have had similar experience would be greatly appreciated.

i think you are on the right track... Sounds to me like something that just happen to a mini excavator I sold. The guy ran it about 1/2 hr and it quit... I went over and changed filter and was running great until I left. 
calls me back up and said it happen again.. anyway took a portable compressed air tank over and blew the fuel back into tank and now seems to be back to normal. Ideally the tank probably should be drained and cleaned though. Good luck to you and stay on the fuel lines troubleshooting. Check for strainers on piping too.

Welcome to TBN. Those 70 series of CUT's were (still are) great tractors.
As I recall, there was a fuel strainer back at the fuel tank and a fuel filter at the fuel pump, too. They are easy to inspect and replace. If you've got gunk - the air treatment should liberate alot of it and you'll see it in the filters.
Also recall some discussion here on TBN regarding the fiber coated fuel lines on this series of tractors becoming a problem with collapsing (internally) as well as leaking. If the line is collapsing it's difficult to see as the fiber coat separates from the rubber and doesn't crimp but the rubber inside does.
If the tractor still has the original fuel lines - it might be time to replace them, too.

Also check the cap. When it drops the RPM unscrew the cap to see it it has a vacuum on the tank. Could be bad check valve in the cap.
