I have a 1992 model 1070 with a 4way bucket FEL. It's been a great machine, but as I have finished most of my larger projects over the years, I am thinking about downsizing. It's a little big for some of the work around the yard.

My problem is finding a definitive source for pricing it to sell. It's in good shape. Has a canopy, 1150 hours, 4WD, gear trans., just a good all around tractor. I just need (ok, I want) something smaller. Any ideas on pricing sources?

...and I know how some of you are...I am going to ignore the "$500 but hold it for me" suggestions!

Try www.machinefinder.com and www.tractorhouse.com for dealer prices. That will put you in the ballpark for your pricing. Just be realistic about the condition of your 1070 and the private party pricing. Your asking price shouldn't be as high as a dealer's asking price.

Since Craigslist is free, get some pictures of your machine and post it there. Can't hurt to post it in TBN's classifieds either.

Seems like you've only had this machine for a year or two, right?

I've had it for about a year and a half. Truth is, I really like it, but it is just a little big. I am thinking of a Kubota B series or Kioti CK series. I will check out the other John Deeres as well, but most of the dealers around here have things priced pretty much out of my range.

My hope is to sell mine and not have to spend a lot more for its replacement.
