MF245 traded for a Kubota M4900
Hi new to posting on this site,I am looking at buying a M5040 and they give the option on tire size 14.9 x 28 or 16.9 x 28 I will be mowing on some steep ground. I checked with firestone and this is what the saidThis is one of those questions that there is no one right answer. The 14.9-28 has a static loaded radius of ~1 less than the 16.9-28. The footprint of the 16.9-28 is ~1/3 larger than the 14.9-28. Which ever you decide please be aware that bush hogging can be very hard on new tires. You should buy the highest ply rating you can find to get as much puncture protection as possible.?

I was just trying to get some opinions from you guys that may have use both size tires I do not have that much experence with tractors.?I could go with the 14.9 and wheel wieghts. Thanks for the help.

No worries. If you go to your public profile DR3045 you can see all of your posts and all of the threads you've started. I've been using this type of forum for a while now and I still learn new tricks now and then.

So I still think you should get the 16.9x28's. If nothing else, they look huge and powerful.
