Hey gang,

Trying to get a blower for cheap. Willing to drive to pick it up.

Anybody gotten a good deal on a 48 - 54" snowblower in New England / New York? Best local price to date is $1449 for a 51" Meteor.

I'm trying to get under $1,200 new or under $900 used (depending on condition).

Thanks!

A cheap snowblower, this time of year may be a little hard to find. Good luck !

ANY snowblower this time of year may be hard to find. I do know that Chappell in Milford, NH has Puma's still available. Not sure on price for small units but 64 inchers go for $1795.

The 54" Puma is $1695 @ Chappell.

I'm hoping to hear from those in the north country where they get big snows every year (meaning everybody already has a snowblower) & they don't get excited by 2 storms in one week....

How do you like the Puma?

I got a price of 1,845 for a 72" with hydraulic chute from Keat's in Keene NH.Not sure what the smaller one's go for.I was lucky and picked up a used 84" for 400.00 from a guy down the road from me back in October. As others have said it may be tough finding a used or new one this time of year. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Need good price on new/used snowblower New Eng

I have a Puma and like it. Its a 54" which is what you'd use on your 18. I got it new w/ my tractor.

I think finding a blower (or even one priced resonably) in NE will be tough since the winter started off w/such a bang. I think they havent had much snow in western NY. You might try there.

The thing I like most about the Puma is the clearance between the fan blades and the shroud housing is minimal to the point of the paint being completely worn off around the shroud from ice etc.. This tends to cause everything to get blown out the chute with no jamming. The unit is also built rock solid and is heavier than most, unlike some others I looked at. Those Canadians at Pronovost really know how make 'em.

That's Walts Equipment (aka Ackerman Equipment, aka Walts Kubota Sales) in Berlin, Vermont.

Walts JRW snowblowers

He was/is a former advertiser in the TBN classifieds. The model he sells is JRW.

I personally think the Pronovost/Puma line is better. Your mileage may vary.

AndyMa who is on here, has one for sale and it came off his New Holland, He may still have it listed in "for sale".. I've seen at his farm and from looks, it looks almost new.
