I recently inherited a FORD 1520 4 wd hydrostatic transmission tractor with the following FORD equipment 5' belly mower, front end loader, and model 110 1 bottom 16" plow. The equipment was all purchased new by my father in 1985 and used to maintain his lawn and garden.
I am using the equipment now but having an issue. The transmission starts howling when the tractor is under load when tractor is at full operating temp example yesterday I was trying to plow some ground when I first started the tractor would spin tires ( in 4 wd) and engine would bog down when plow hit a root or large stone. When tractor reached full operating temp NOT overheating the transmission would just howl and engine did not seem to bog down and the tires did not spin.
If anyone has any ideas I am all ears
Thanks in advance,
