need advise on ford 1200 front differential

Hi all, I took my front differential apart and found a broken tooth on the pinion gear but the ring gear looks OK. Can I change out the pinion gear and use the same ring gear or does it have to be a matching set? where is the best place to get these parts?


Also the spider gear shaft which I know is a floating pin looks like one end hit something. can in move that far to hit the differential casing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Usually you put a matched set in order that the wear is the same, unless you just want to get it working or don't care etc. It really depends on the wear on those gears.
