need advice

i have just upgraded a worn out 15hp b&s engine on my rideing mower with a 20 hp b&s twin opposed cylinder engine that was running fine for about three weeks then the fuel pump stopped working so i cleaned out the carburetor changed the gasket-intake,gasket-carburetor body. the body-fuel pump,and the gasket-carburetor pump now the engine runs eratic it runs high then low.Does anyone have any clue what i did wrong or what i need to do.

Welcome from Oklahoma. Carb still dirty, and/or vacuum leak. Just because you can see light through a jet doesn't mean it's not partially clogged.
