Need advice on 763 exhaust tube replacement

I've got an older...well used...763 that I'm trying to get fixed up. The engine compartment is pretty sooted up. Tried to do some welding and patching on the existing muffler and I did cut down the leaks a bunch...but it's pretty obvious that there's no fixing it.

I ran my and along the exhaust tube and pretty far back in there felt some small leaks.

So...looks like I'm in for a muffler and exhaust tube. The muffler and clamp on that end looks easy. How do I change the exhaust tube?? Can I get to the back of the engine by rotating the cab back.

Any tricks or advice for getting it off.

Also...is there any place to get those parts at a discount...on-line or anything?? I've done some quick internet searches and doesn't look like much out there.

I just did the muffler and exhaust tube on my 763 a few months ago. It wasn't too bad to get to with the cab rotated back. Just be careful not to drop the nuts! That was the longest part of the whole process, finding the nut that I dropped down into the bottom. As far as prices, the dealer was the only place that I could even find. I tried to get some automotive flex pipe and had a muffler shop make an elbow for it, but it still didn't seal very well. Its much easier just to go with Bobcat stuff.

If I remember right, it was something like $300 for the muffler and about $150 for the elbow, but it's been a while.

I've got a 742B (gas) and used a short muffler from TSC, welded (tig'd) some tight 90deg's and used a portion of a collector lever (from a helicopter) for the exhaust tube. Worked out great and when I had to take it to the dealer for some hydraulic work they liked the exhaust.
