Need advice about mowing attachments for ditches and under fences

Any suggestions? We're looking at this attachment DR 3-Point Hitch Trimmer/Mower - PTO Fence & Ditch Line Mower, but I haven't been too thrilled with the durability of the DR push trimmers.

How about a sprayer full of Roundup or one of the affordable generic herbicides????

I read a couple of the questions on the web page . From the answer to the cutting reach it might be ok for trimming under fences ,but not banks and ditches. (32" to 54" reach from center of tractor) That would mean only 18" past my tractor tire. You won't catch me within 18" of a pond or creek bank that I could slip into and turn over. Also unless you are mowing small grass and tender weeds I would think one would be spending lots of time changing trimmer line.No experience just my opinion.
