My opinion and choice for my battery needs ==> OPTIMA Batteries

I have them in boats, jet skis, trucks, tractor, and cars here.

The initial cost is higher but after that and a battery tender ==> Battery Tender Plus 12 Volt 1.25 Amp Battery Charger: BatteryMart.com you'll be ahead of the battery replacement game.

I have a Tender for all of my batteries except the daily driver. Got one plugged into my tractor right now.

If you ask your dealer, they will tell you it is a special battery. Perhaps it is, but you can get one from lots of places. I bought my third battery for my B7300 at my local membership club for under $50 - my second battery I got from the dealer for about $120 and it only lasted about three years :p. Just get the "type" off the battery. It ain't difficult. If you can't find the type, take it to an auto supply store, battery store, whatever, and they can match it up.

My B7500 had a curtis cab with a 15000 btu heater, the heater & cab worklights running all winter and electric sprayers running all summer really took a toll on my batterys.

Have you looked into the higher amp alternator upgrade? I am thinking of doing it for worklight appliction as I don't want to be stranded far from the house or shop due to a dead battery.

I believe most of the B series Kubotas use a Group 51R battery. Should be an available size from auto parts stores(NAPA,CARQUEST,etc). Interstate is a personal favorite of mine, and I know they make that size. Might not be a popular size in stock, but someone could have one overnight for you.

Wallyworld carries the 51R battery here in our area and is therefore reasonably priced. The R means the battery post + and - are reversed from a normal group 51 battery.

Yup, the R51 is the same one as my B7300.

You can use all kinds of batteries - if you get stuck with the terminals backwards putting in longer cables is an option. I prefer to stick with the battery the machine originally used but a previous mechanic at work didn't care and put whatever battery was in the shop in the tractors when one failed.

I sold the 7500 & jumped up to a B3030 hsdc two years ago.

I had had to buy one today for my B7510, $99.99 at Advance Auto, 3 yr warranty. I didn't have the time to "shop around."

Just out of curiosity -does the new B2320,2620,2920 tractors still use the 51R battery and the Dynamo?

If you ran a machine with a dynamo vs. an alternator, you will go through batterys much faster.
