Hi guys and gals, I found some old articles but I didnt have much luck tracking them down. I am in need of new Injector nozzles for a jd 4600 /yanmar 4tne84. I would like good quality, but I dont want to pay jd prices. Any suggestions on where to look? Where to get the best bang for my buck? Tia Rob

I don't know whose injectors Yanmar uses. Well, I don't know where Yacolt is, either. It turned out my Mitsubishi tractor used Nippon Denso injectors. Due to the age of the tractor I had a local diesel shop rebuild them. You may be able to get information at a "real" diesel shop as well. By that I mean one that works on trucks and farm equipment. In my case I used Tri-Cities Diesel Injection Service in Pasco, WA. They do injector repair for some of the tractor repair shops like New Holland. You can give them a call (509) 547-2591.

Hoyetractor.com mainly supports the gray import Yanmars but has some stuff for the Yanmar-based Deeres. Mostly NAPA-quality replica parts. Quality is excellent, no complaints in the Yanmar forum here. You might try Hoye if yours can't be rebuilt.

U NEED to have access to a torque wrench..
Hold the injector upside down IN A VISE & remove the bottom nut..
Get the #'s off the nozzle{tip} & do the search or post them here..
{or send it to me}
Once u find & install the tips, torque the bottom nut to 50 FTlbs.

PREPARE your work area.. NO CLUTTER.. lay shop towels down & lay out the parts..
Actually, it would be in your best interest to NOT remove anything BUT the bottom nut.. & just leave the innards alone.

Thanks for the advice, I have already pulled them apart , and cleaned them. I had one dripping , the cleaning did not help. I did not notice the numbers , I will look again. Thanks alot for the advice. They did all pop at the correct pressure, 3 of them are atomizing properly , but the one that was dripping wont stop.

The #s i came up with are 150p244hao , the weird part is they come up for a 4tne88, but mine is supposed to be an 84?

Its not uncommon for the same nozzle to be used in a series of engines.. especially one that close.
Whats the story behind the machine.?? have u owned it since new.?? chances are they haven't been swapped..
BUT, if u don't know the history.. then theres a chance they have been changed..??
THAT inj. nut gets torqued to 40 ftlbs. BE CAREFUL not to break the pins.. U REALLY SHOULD have a "rig" to tear them down..

I have owned it since new, about 2k hours on it. I was having smoking issues , so I tore them down and bought a pop tester, I had 3 not spraying properly and one leaking . I cleaned them which helped the 3 to atomize, but the 4th one is still leaking . the injector shop want 450 to rebuild them. I have the tools to do it, I just need the tips . I figure if I change one I may as well change them all.

Yes, I like your thinking.. change all 4..w/ the same # u have in them now..

I DID A QUICKIE SEARCH & FOUND THOSE TIPS TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE.!!
There IS a place in the Virgin Isl. that has them instock for 53.00..
Everyone else wants 100.00 each.!!
THAT may be a factor in replacing 1 vs all 4.??

Call Seattle Diesel. Tell them what you need. You could send them the injector and have them match it up, fix it or just send it back to you with the part needed.
They should respond in a timely manor.
