I blew it. I'm sorry. And I hope the impact is not terribly serious.

And why the apology? Yesterday, I backed an 18 hp hyro mower out in the sunshine, replaced oil, air and gas filters, drained old and filled new 10/30 JD all weather oil, and a new copper champion spark plug. Took off the leaf vacuum hose adapter (left on when the grass stoped growin last year) from the deck and put on the stock JD deck awning on the 4' deck. Checked and aired the tire pressures and wiped the surface down with a brandy new dust rag.

Result: NY and the other NE states are calling for 3 -8 inches of wet white tonight. Telling me that these 2 events are unrelated is a waste of sighs.

If I had only waited .... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Hey, no problem here! Put another coat of wax on my plastic sled and can't wait for the bobsled course to get a couple more inches!

Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Doug,
Are you also the type that washes the car and it rains cats-n-dogs the next day? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

DAP: .... I'm reluctant to reply, but I can't let you take all the heat, alone.
I'm taking delivery of a new Callaway Big Bertha, tomorrow and was looking forward to hitting a bucket of balls. .......Dang!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ..Raybee

Dap...... the only thing that I see that you did wrong was to use a Champion spark plug. I would suggest that you replace it with a NGK or Denso for better starting and longevity. I have had Champions go bad after only a month or two and drive me crazy wondering why the mower wouldn't start. Since you have a love of Greyhounds, I will forgive you for your shortsighted mistake.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Just don't let it happen again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Funny you should mention that. I'll bet a cool breeze in October that somebody at JD knows too: they give you 2 of em in the kit box! - only one of everything else.

Frankly, after about 120 or so hours on this machine, the old factory installed champion plug looked perfect, that nice beige burn color with no charring.

Maybe I'll sell the other champion plug on eBay for 25.00. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hope those balls are the orange or yellow ones cause you aint gonna see diddlywart until maybe next weekend!

S'Ok, though, time to get them calluses in shape. They never go where we wantum to, so who cares if ya see em or not! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

DISCLAIMER: been a long time since the weather folks have been wrong round here. NOT.

Might have a a high-temp record, just as likely. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Frankly, the only time I can wash my cars is in the dead of winter, when the puddle ponds in the drive are frozen solid! Or .. when we have draught.

Dap,
Don't worry about the others and what they think.. I'll go along with you and accept all this proposed weather IS your fault. See how easy this is? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Car washing! Love it! Back in California I used to wash my car every single weekend. Tried to keep that habit going when I escaped to Vermont...only the first time I tried it in sub-zero weather the chamois stuck to the fender and stayed frozen there several weeks! It froze so solid it didn't even flap in the wind as I drove down the Interstate! My wife found it hysterically funny. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Pete, just make sure they're laughing with ya. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

And the forecast has changed. Now, it's for Toozdee evenun and 5-8 inches.

Good thing I'm boilin down some maple sap. Can finally do that drizzle hot syrup in the snow thing. The snow here is prolly fulla flurocarbons though. I'll ignore it this time so I can say I did it. What's a few ppb heavy metals and carbon. We're all carbon anyway.

Hey Doug when you do that sugar on snow stuff get you some really good and sour dill pickels. Man will they clear out the sugar taste and give you a contrast. Personally I prefer a good cup of coffee/tea sweetened with maple syrup (idea for Pete) and a big homemade donut.
Take care

My wife, a canuck actually, says that a lot of people will portion out some of the boiling syrup-to-be when it begins to turn amber, and just drink it, like maple tea, she calls it.

Funny about the pickles, a Russian friend of mine took me to a party once. They served about 20 different kinds of vodka, in test tube beakers of all things. The tables were also loaded with sour dill pickles. When I inquired about them he told me that all Russians know that Russian vodka is the worst. Take a jolt and cleanse the pallet with a pickle is the way to do it!

After a while of this, you can't taste the pickle anymore and really wouldn't care if you could! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
