Actually Denmark. Norway was united with Denmark until 1814, when independence from Denmark was a fact, and the constitution was signed May 17. 1814. Due to international events Norway was forced into union with Sweden which lasted until 1905.
This is 17. May celebration ot Virginia Beech. Norwegians celebrate 17. May whereever they are in the world!
