I know this probably doesn't really fit into the TBN "Build It Yourself" forum but I'm kinda proud of the little guy. I started this idea about 3 years ago as a toy box for my son and, like most of my projects, it took a little longer than expected. He finally gets one 3 years later .

PS- for those of you wondering why it has been taking us so long to answer our parts dept phones lately... we've been working on building these. :)

Aaron,

I do not remember any other thread that you have actually started.:D You have spent a significant amount of time answering questions and helping woth problems in the Yanmar department, but not starting threads. So I am glad that you have initiated one.

Good job on your concept creation. I believe the little guys will get many hours of enjoyment from those toy boxes. Enjoy them because this time passes so quickly.

Where's the yellow paint?

Looks like quality workmanship and a very creative design. Will you fill them up with toys after you paint them yellow? Of course the real question is what shade of yellow will you use? Cat, Case, NH, Deer or some other brand. Hitachi is orange, Terex is white and somebody in China is red.

Congrats on putting a smile on your kids faces!!

Looks great!
People that can do wood are a mystery to me. Anything I build out of wood looks like, well, can't say that on this forum.
Wonder if I can adopt a kid to play in one, if I order it?

very nice craftmanship. your kids gonna be happy with it for years to come.

Very nice. I am a woodworker too, and I can appreciate the project. BB ply might take concerns around movement out of the project, but it is not the easiest of board materials to work with.

Great job. I can really appreciate your work, something I have only dreamed of doing. I just never seem to get the time to start let alone finish such a project. The guys are really going to enjoy it.

Are you building these for sale? Do you have another company?

All the pictures have THIS watermark on them:confused:

Thank you all for your encouragement. We fixed a few minor issues since the pictures were taken but I am really happy with how they turned out. The kids really LOVE them!

Well... we're going to give it a shot. After the first very rough dump truck prototype that I made my son, we received a lot of interest... mainly from the wives of the guys that came to our shop for Yanmar parts :). We decided to do the dozer and polish the dumptruck & try to sell some. They are definitely not the cheapest toy boxes right now but we have an amazing amount of time & expense wrapped up in them. We'll see how it goes.
