My welder popped a circuit board

My 1983 Linde/Union Carbide HeliArc 250 went kaput about two months ago. Seems the control board is bad and the unit has no current control. Runs wide open. Not good. ESAB doesn't have a new circuit board
I've got welding projects stacked up so I need to get something.
Need to put a new bucket on my loader. I really only need stick at this point so I guess a DC inverter would be the cheapest.
Any thoughts?

Internet search for board repair on your brand. Also, check with your local welding supply shop. They may offer this service.

One of the advertiser here Everlast welders has a pretty good buy on inverter welding machines. He usually has a comment in anything in the welding topic header.

These people can fix you up. I have used them myself to fix some hard to find and expensive board on my Lincoln Ranger. They do good job and price is very reasonable. There's a good chance if you can find the part number on your board they have on in stock to swap out...Nice people (or they were:laughing

TBN is an awesome site. I knew you guys would have some answers. Mark, thanks for the repair tip. It's definitely on my list to fix.
Just for comparison what would a 200 amp DC stick inverter cost me.
PM me with the price if you have time. As it is now I can't even put bucket hooks on my new tractor. My wife saw me using the old one and asked what was wrong.
